In the rainy season, experience white-water rafting on the Kaek River—15 rapids over 8 km of thrilling, scenic flow. 
This river, which flows right past Elephant Forest, originates from the forested highlands of Khao Kho, making it one of the most dynamic waterways in Thailand.

From walking with elephants (no riding or shows) to discovering misty national parks and mountain temples, here’s a sample 4-day itinerary that blends nature, culture, and calm. 

4 Days / 3 Nights – Culture, Nature & Connection 

A perfect blend of ancient heritage, gentle giants, and wild beauty.

Day 1 – Sukhothai Discovery

  • Arrive in Sukhothai and spend the day exploring the UNESCO World Heritage ruins by bike or on foot
  •  Sunset at the ancient lotus ponds
  • Overnight in Sukhothai

Day 2 – Travel to Elephant Forest & Full-Day Elephant Program

  • Morning transfer to Elephant Forest (approx. 2 hour drive)
  • Walk with elephants, prepare their food, and learn their stories
  • Rest and reconnect in the forest setting 

Day 3 – Mountain Temples & Hmong Culture

  • Hike and explore Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park

Elephant Forest Phitsanulok exists thanks to the support of the family behind Sappraiwan Elephant Foundation, who rescued the elephants and offered their own forest land as a sanctuary. The hotel owners have been long-time supporters of the foundation’s elephant care and forest conservation efforts. 

If you stay at U Phitsanulok, a peaceful 4-star hotel located onsite within the same forest, you support the vision of those who made this possible (predicted to open in June 2026). 

Get a very unique and peaceful experience by booking one of our 10 available rooms which we are trialing in the meantime. Please note that besides the room, Sappraiwan Elephant House Cafe and extra cost elephant activities, there will be no other on site facilities until renovation is complete.
